10th September 2012 Windsurfing: Felixstowe dip Wind Direction: ssw Wind Stength: F5 Surf / Sea State: swell/chop Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: 26.7 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 20Nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Another warm Sept session as yesterdays wind turned up, tide coming and the sea not too big. Arrived late afternoon several regulars out on 5.0 / 6.0, so rigged 6M / Mistral Synchro, and had a good session. Sail was set flat and the wind was a little up/down but mainly up. Had a few jumps and decent rides in. Tried 2 disastrous speed reaches as I went too broad and both times dug into the back of the wave, wiping out big time, lucky no damage. Didn’t bother with anymore GPS runs as they flat water was way over nr the river Most were having a great time, though the high tide must have put off kiters as only one was flying. Finished off at the spa for another 5 star session, with no damage. |
